In my twenty-four years of living in Japan I've experienced a wealth of priceless learning. But for me the quest for knowledge has only begun! Some 24 years ago I heard a man from Noda City, Japan say that we shouldn't teach martial arts, because then we bear the responsibility for that individual's life. So I never teach the art, I only offer an interpretation.

Shihan Instructor

Dojo Board Member

I spent a long time looking for the perfect martial art, with the right blend of practicality and battle-tested effectiveness. My journey started in Idaho in the early '90s, studying Kantan-Kyo Jiu-jutsu and Wing Tsun Kung-fu.

Matt Daly

Rokudan - Shidoshi

I was introduced to Bujinkan Ninjutsu in the early 90's in Japan.  I have tried other martial arts since, but ninjutsu has always been my passion.  After years of practicing at other dojos and trying out different styles, joining the Seattle Budokan feels like coming home.

Charlie Duke

Yondan - Instructor

My journey in martial arts started in junior high school during a summer break when I was exposed to Taekwondo. While studying in Australia I sought out a martial art that will still work in my old age, I stumbled upon Bujinkan Ninjutsu and fell in love with it ever since. Over the years, I've been studying the art on and off for 4 to 5 years before joining the dojo. My other passions include cooking and photography

Anthony Miller

Nidan - Instructor

Before joining the Bujinkan in 2017, I studied Ninjutsu for a little over 10 years and cross trained in Muay Thai kickboxing. Ninjutsu is a passion and life long journey for me. When I'm not training in the dojo, you can find me rock climbing, hiking, playing the drums, or spending time with my family.
